In November 2015 the French firm Oddo & Cie announced its intention to purchase BHF KleinwortBenson Group S.A, in which it had been a significant shareholder for some time. This transaction concluded in Q1 2016 and Oddo & Cie subsequently sold the UK and Channel Island businesses of BHF Kleinwort Benson Group S.A. to SG Hambros Limited, part of the Societe Generale Group, during Q2 2016. Oddo & Cie retained the European continental businesses of BHF Kleinwort Benson Group S.A. including Kleinwort Benson Investors, which is an SEC registered investment adviser. Oddo & Cie announced on Monday 23rd May 2016 that it had reached agreement to sell 87.5% of Kleinwort Benson Investors to Amundi Asset Management, with the remaining 12.5% being retained by the management of Kleinwort Benson Investors.
